PRESS RELEASE
Date: 12th October 2025
The Le Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0 continues to blaze the trail in youth empowerment and capacity building as it successfully held its first class session on Sunday, 12th October 2025, marking a significant milestone in this year’s mentorship journey. The day began with bright smiles and warm welcomes as mentees arrived at the venue, greeted by the executives and volunteers who ensured everyone felt at home. Those who had not received their T-shirts during the opening ceremony were issued theirs, adding color and uniformity to the vibrant gathering.
Before the day’s discussions, the Mentor Selection Committee was highly commended for their tireless efforts in identifying and securing two powerful and well-experienced mentors whose names carry weight in the world of entrepreneurship:
- Mr. Muhammed Danso, a renowned entrepreneur and business strategist.
- Mr. Muhammed Jawo, a PhD Candidate, Lecturer, celebrated researcher, innovator, and CEO.
These distinguished mentors were carefully selected based on their track records, expertise, and commitment to youth development. They were assigned two key topics that set the tone for a transformational session:
- “Introduction to Entrepreneurship: Concepts and Checklists for Accomplishment” by Mr. Muhammed Danso
- “Cultivating the Entrepreneurial Mindset: Adaptability, Grit, and Vision” by Mr. Muhammed Jawo
Both mentors wholeheartedly accepted their invitations and assured their presence and indeed, they delivered beyond expectations.
MR. MUHAMMED DANSO’S SESSION: A PRACTICAL JOURNEY INTO THE WORLD OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The session began with a lively introduction by the MC, who ushered in the first mentor, Mr. Muhammed Danso. His presentation, held physically, was captivating and interactive, bringing theory to life through practical engagement and real-world insights.
Mr. Danso’s class covered key entrepreneurial pillars including self-reflection, market research, engaging feedback, product review, financial literacy, customer feedback, value creation, and consistency. Each point was clearly explained with relatable examples that kept mentees deeply engaged and inspired.
The highlight of his class came during the Q&A segment, where nearly ten mentees raised thoughtful questions, all of which were answered with clarity and encouragement. His humility, energy, and depth of knowledge left an indelible impression on both mentees and executives alike.
Mr. MUHAMMED JAWO’S SESSION: BUILDING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET
Next was Mr. Muhammed Jawo, who joined the class virtually due to his location. Despite the distance, his session was powerfully engaging, educative, and deeply inspiring. After a brief introduction by the MC and setup of the projector, Mr. Jawo began his lecture with gratitude to the organizers for their vision and commitment to youth empowerment.
He introduced the topic “Cultivating the Entrepreneurial Mindset: Adaptability, Grit, and Vision”, laying emphasis on the two core drivers of success, attitude and belief. He coined and explained the unique term “YepSiMindbila”, a mindset philosophy rooted in perseverance and purpose.
Mr. Jawo challenged mentees with the thought-provoking statement:
“All entrepreneurs are business owners, but not all business owners are entrepreneurs.”
His lecture explored why mindset matters most, explaining that while resources are limited, mindset is unlimited. He presented the success equation:
Success: Mindset + Behavior = Outcome
Drawing from his research on resilience, Mr. Jawo emphasized that many studies focus on external factors, but internal traits such as hope, self-efficacy, and optimism play an equally crucial role. He introduced the three pillars of entrepreneurial success, Adaptability, Grit, and Vision and reminded mentees that theory without action is meaningless.
He concluded with his powerful three-MANTRA message:
Patience,Persistence and Passion.
The lecture ended with a vibrant Q&A session, where mentees engaged the mentor enthusiastically. One mentee gave such an excellent answer to Mr. Jawo’s requested that he should be awarded a cup of Wonjo as a symbolic gift for his brilliant contribution, a moment that brought smiles across the room.
CLOSING REMARKS AND REFLECTIONS
As the session drew to a close, the MC appreciated everyone’s patience and reminded the mentees that occasional extended sessions are part of the journey toward growth. The Chairman later addressed the mentees on punctuality, attendance, and program discipline, while the CEO, Mr. Jawo, also gave heartfelt advice, urging everyone to take the program seriously and use it as a springboard to success.
Finally, the MC declared the class closed until the next session, leaving mentees inspired, energized, and ready to continue their journey of transformation.
CONCLUSION
The first class of Le Jumbo Mentorship Program 4.0 was a resounding success, a blend of knowledge, inspiration, and experience-sharing. The program continues to stand as a beacon of hope for young Gambians seeking mentorship, growth, and empowerment.
